Canada Summer Jobs Program

With support received through the federal Canada Summer Jobs Program (CSJP), Tourism Whistler has the opportunity to hire an Ask Whistler Program Ambassador in a short-term contract capacity. As a requirement of the CSJP:

  • This position is open to youth up to 30 years of age
  • Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada

Position Summary

This Ask Whistler Program Ambassador will focus on promoting the Ask Whistler Program, mainly through in-person connections with our guests visiting Whistler.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Tourism Whistler ambassador, living our purpose and vision with passion & energy, achievement, and respect
  • Promote the Ask Whistler program to guests in-person (in Whistler Village and the Upper Village) and via social channels
  • Work with internal team to develop a ‘Surprise & Delight’ program for in-resort visitors
  • Assist with guest inquiries via the online Ask Whistler software
  • Support with Visitor Centre Agent duties as required
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Visitor Services & Ask Whistler

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Passion for offering superior customer service, in-person primarily, but also in an online environment
  • Excellent knowledge of Whistler is desired, but not mandatory
  • Motivated self-starter, with the ability to take initiative and be a solution-oriented thinker
  • Strong computer skills
  • Considerable experience with social media and an interest in technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A flexible and versatile team player, with the ability to work in an ever-changing environment
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment, discretion, and tact
  • Ability to walk/stand for several hours in the outdoor elements is required
