Associate Editorial Manager (100%)

Role

The Associate Editorial Manager is responsible for the overall editorial development of a set of assigned projects. The Associate Editorial Manager maintains the highest degree of quality, clarity, timely delivery and consistency of International Standards and related normative and non-normative documents, as well as conformity with ISO rules and policies.
The work is based on:

  • the ISO/IEC Directives Part 1 and Part 2 and additional internal rules,
  • the current practice of the Technical Committees.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare the English language version of a document (aligning the French language version as required) for subsequent processing and authorize the publication
  • Reach all milestones within deadlines, including publication, in line with production and quality objectives (or targets)
  • Handle the editorial evaluation of the English language version of documents at different stages, including providing direction, guidance and comments to committees or committee leaders with the support of Editorial Managers/the Editorial Team Leader as appropriate
  • Provide day to day editorial support to committees with the support of Editorial Managers/the Editorial Team Leader as appropriate
  • Handle the resolution of recurring or specific problems relating to the editing with committee leaders in collaboration with the TPM as appropriate
  • Work closely with committee leaders via electronic means
  • Facilitate the progression of projects through the production chain
  • Facilitate and troubleshoot the production of XML-based publications, including providing feedback
Report to: Editorial Team Leader

Qualification and Experience

  • 2 years of editorial experience in the publishing industry, preferably in science publishing
  • University degree
  • Strong editing skills and successful experience in working with authors
  • Excellent command of English (C1/C2) and a good knowledge of French; other languages are an asset
  • At ease with Microsoft Word
  • At ease with modern publishing technologies, knowledge of eXtyles, Typefi or InDesign is an asset
