About the role 

The role will contribute to socio-economic development across university’s satellite sites including London and Stafford by driving consulting-led work experience, utilising our students fostering enterprise and innovation priorities through a dedicated spin out consulting company. The role holder will be leading the development of spin out business that will be benefiting our students through partnerships with employers at all levels, delivering quality paid consulting work experience for our students and graduates. 

The role will operate across the number of key areas within the University’s Innovation Enterprise Zone and enterprise & innovation ecosystem connecting key university’s assets including research, incubation/ launch pad, RD&I facilities, knowledge exchange projects all towards driving quality consulting work experience for our students/ graduates. The role contributes to key university’s priorities including Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF), Higher Education Business & Community Interaction (HEBCI) and demonstrating impact under the Research Excellence Framework (REF). 

The role will be responsible for proactively generating business opportunities from both new and existing clients to deliver quality consulting work experience for our students, income and added value opportunities. The post holder will work within a team and also promote the full range of University partnership opportunities including apprenticeships, knowledge exchange, enterprise, innovation and commercialisation, regional engagement, work experience, consultancy, CPD and work-based learning. The post-holder will lead the delivery of one area of employer partnership development i.e., student consulting, driving this area of the Innovation Enterprise Zone.
