Duties and Responsibilities

·         Attend and report the meetings: CC monthly staff meeting, trainer meeting, cluster meeting etc.

·         Identifying and managing logistical needs for all the activities/center supplies.

·         Responsible for achieving the project’s target and objectives in his/her designated role.

·         Supervise the community center staff members.

·         Represent REACH and the program with relevant government and non-government agencies.

·         Prepare monthly schedule and plan for beneficiary training courses and ensure conducting the training.

·         Provide training courses required for the Refugee, IDP and Host Community.

·         Managing the Community Action Groups.

·         Establish and strengthen cohesion amongst Refugees, IDPs and the Host Community.

·         Build strong relations with the local government authorities and other relevant staekholders.

·         Ability to follow instructions and collaborate with his/her supervisor

·         Identify the needs of Refugees, IDPs and Host Community members for psychosocial support.

·         Assess the capacity of Refugees, IDPs and the Host community in delivering and providing support and training.

·         Ensuring the conducting of evaluation of training and trainers with the relevant staff.

·         Ensuring that drivers, cleaners, kindergarten staff, and trainers are conducting their responsibilities in the center.

·         Identify gaps and taking over responsibilities

·         Provide accurate and timely reports to the Project Manager.

·         Collect, share, and report success stories, photo stories, and case studies.

·         Ensure the completion of work in the center.

·         Ensure that all project data is properly and regularly collected and documented well.

·         Accountable to the position description, HR manual, team members are expected to support all efforts towards accountability, specifically to our beneficiaries and to international guiding international relief and development work.

·         Prepare work plan on weekly basis, monthly basis and ad hoc if required.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

·         Submit required reports concerning community activities and requested data on time.

·         Assist the Project Manager in preparing the project quarterly procurement plan and work plan.

·         Demonstrated attention to details, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members is required.

·         Coordinate with the Project Manager to develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.

·         Perform other related duties as requested.

·         Follow policies and procedures of REACH.

Job Purpose

The Community Center Coordinator is responsible for supervising Community Center (CC) staff, facilitating the activities, ensuring the training courses are being conducted on time, planning, and overall monitoring of the Community Center.

The Community Center Coordinator reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for coordinating with local authorities and other relevant stakeholders; he/she is also responsible for identifying the needs of Refugees, IDPs and Host Community.

 

 

Qualifications

 

·         University education and/or training in a relevant field (sociology/ psychology, community development, public relations).

·         Have at least four-years of experience in a relevant position.

·         Sound and demonstrable knowledge of and skills in communication, planning, outreach and community work;

·         Fluency in written and spoken English, Arabic and Kurdish, excellent writing and reporting skills.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

·         Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in communicating, planning, problem solving, outreach and community work.

·         Exhibit leadership and motivation to be a team player; being able to train and build the capacity of staff members.

·         Skilled communicator, able to develop collaborative a relationship with staff, stakeholders and community action groups.

·         Fluency in written and spoken English, Arabic and Kurdish, excellent writing and reporting skills.

·         Proficiency with MS Office software required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Drive, Share Point, etc.).

  • Proven ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and be accountable for results.
  • Consciousness with an excellent sense of judgment.

·         Community skills: knowledge and understanding of community and social issues with excellent negotiation skills.

·         Research, report writing skills and the ability to interpret or present data.

·         A non-judgmental and positive attitude.

·         Diplomacy and adaptability.

·         Excellent listening skills and confidence in talking to people both in groups and on a one-to-one basis.

·         Existing relationship with local government and community leaders is highly preferred.
