2. About the job

As Coordinator EU Projects you will support UNI Europa and its sectors in the planning, implementation, and follow-up of projects. Within a larger team, your role will be to assist the organisation in optimising the use of project funds in support of workers’ organisations and social dialogue and in acquiring new sources of funding to achieve the organisations’ strategic objectives.

The Coordinator EU Projects will report to the Regional Secretary and the Senior Executive.

Main responsibilities and duties:

  • To keep all relevant information and guidelines up to date regarding planning, application procedures, management and reporting of projects;
  • To support UNI Europa Policy Directors and Coordinators as well as other UNI staff in their different project roles;
  • To organise, under the supervision of the Senior Executive, the coordination and regular review of progress;
  • To assist the conception, planning and implementation of cross-sector or other UNI Europa projects;
  • To ensure efficient communication and coordination with funding bodies, European trade union federations, the ETUC/ETUI, and other stakeholders.

Main daily tasks will include:

  • Research and updating of relevant information on funding programmes;
  • Documentation on call for proposals;
  • Updating information and documents of UNI Europa for the submission of project proposals;
  • Preparation of project agreements;
  • Updating the online database on UNI Europa projects;
  • Management of information on projects on the UNI Europa web page;
  • Facilitate the coordination among UNI Europa Policy Directors and assist in the review and adaptations of the implementation of project work packages;
  • Organise regular reviews of progress between Project Managers and the UNI Europa Projects Team;
  • Support and organise the coordination of interim and final reports;
  • Assist the Project Team and the UNI Europa Regional Secretary in the assessment of progress and final output of projects;
  • Produce reports and presentations for the UNI Europa Executive Committee on the output of the projects;
  • Coordinate the active participation in and reporting on project meetings organised by funding bodies in the framework of their funding programmes;
  • Liaise with ETUFs to exchange information on EU projects, explore possibilities of cooperation and coordinate joint projects;
  • Liaise with the ETUC/ETUI to exchange information on EU projects and on the policies, rules, and guidelines of the EU Commission.

3. The Successful Candidate

Our successful candidate will have:

  • A strong personal commitment to the goals of UNI Europa and the trade union movement;
  • Strong writing and communication skills;
  • Fluency in English and knowledge of a second official UNI Europa language (German, French, Swedish), spoken and written, is essential. Knowledge of any other languages is an advantage;
  • Prior experience working in NGOs, social movements, campaigns and/or projects;
  • An understanding of contemporary labour problems, the challenges facing unions and the role comprehensive and strategic campaigns play in supporting union objectives in organising, negotiations and policy matters;
  • The ability to engage in responsible financial oversight of activities and projects respecting budgetary limitations;
  • An advantage for candidates is experience in trade union work at national and/or international level and/or in project management;
  • In addition, the successful candidate:
    • Can work well within a membership-based organisation affiliating member unions with differing experiences, industrial relations systems, and trade union cultures;
    • Has experience in developing personal work plans and goals;
    • Has good inter-personal and partnership skills fitting to coordinating work within and across teams;
    • Has the ability to plan strategically and administratively and effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

4. Remuneration
