Description To coordinate and manage the application and admission process for one or more graduate programs in the Office of Graduate Admissions. Responsibilities include communicating with applicants and inquiries, preliminary application review, and ensuring all applicants are efficiently moved through the application review process.

  • Coordinate and manage the application and admission process for one or more graduate programs in the Office of Graduate Admissions.   • Assist with planning and coordination of the applicant interview process for assigned graduate program(s).
  • Review applications for admission in collaboration and coordination with assigned graduate program(s) admissions committees.
  • Configure, maintain and manage CAS (centralized application system) for assigned graduate program(s) to reflect program-specific admissions scoring rubrics and application procedures. 
  • Build collegial, consultative and professional relationships with assigned college/program(s), admissions committees, deans/directors, faculty and staff.
  • Assist in training of faculty and external interviewers to review and score in assigned admissions systems; advise on best practices for interview and application review.
  • Analyze, report, and present admissions data to colleagues, program/university faculty, and staff.
  • Facilitate the application and admission process and develop program-specific communication flows, updating and revising as appropriate.
  • Represent the University as an recruiter for graduate programs, with attendance at graduate and professional fairs, undergraduate recruitment events, virtual fairs, and professional conferences.
  • Stay abreast of current University programs, policies and procedures. Ensure assigned graduate programs are working in alignment with admissions policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate and actively participate in on-boarding of new staff and implementation of ongoing training with administrative staff and counselors.
  • Assist in the planning, and actively participate in various special events and projects related to university admissions functions, open houses, retreats, campus visits.
  • Perform high level data entry and information retrieval tasks using the student records systems and other University sanctioned software programs.
  • Perform related duties as necessary.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, or master’s degree in appropriate discipline or one or more years of related work experience desirable, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
 

  • Excellent reading, writing and organizational skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with prospective graduate students, college career counselors, college faculty advisors, students/faculty/staff/alumni, and others.
  • Strong group speaking/presentation skills as well as individual interviewing/advising skills.
  • Willingness and ability to gain a comprehensive understanding of the educational goals and objectives of the institution and specific graduate and professional programs.
  • Excellent typing/data entry skills and experience working with computerized information systems required.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within office “team” environment as well as lead all file review, interview and follow up initiatives for assigned programs.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
