The Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist is responsible for supporting the KM Department to ensure that ACDI/VOCA Group staff is properly trained and can use KM tools proficiently. They will develop and execute communications plans to roll out new tools and increase adoption of existing ones. This role will report to the Senior Director, Knowledge Management.
Build Capacity: Identify capacity development needs amongst staff related to technologies and services provided by the Department. Ensure training for staff on the use of AViator (intranet). Offer training opportunities, communications, and other modalities and materials to increase adoption. Work with technical staff to capture and promote their knowledge across the enterprise. Produce learning pieces and guidance to enhance staff’s knowledge of useful skills and KM tools. Work with project teams for documents collection and storage on project sites and Aviator. Support the creation and maintenance of a KM Knowledge.
Collaborate, Learn, and Adapt: Introduce the latest KM tools and enhancements to staff and propose plan for alignment with departmental, division, and project goals. Analyze documents and take feedback, and often conduct focus groups to improve taxonomies in the Aviator (intranet) and suggest changes when needed. Create and execute communications plans, materials, and events to rollout new technologies and products or enhancements to existing ones. Craft and disseminate the Knowledge Nugget, an informative news post that runs on Aviator (intranet) on a technical or learning topic, tool, or tool enhancement.
Organize & Accelerate: Support the Senior Director, Knowledge Management, with management of various KM consultants and professional services to include writing scopes of work, submitting procurement packages for approval, updating guidance documents, and submitting invoices for payment. Perform other duties as requested.
Master’s degree. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of advanced degree. Minimum of 4 years of experience with communications, technology, or project management supporting timely submission of project deliverables and communicating impact. Self-starter with a can-do attitude & an eye for detail and innovation. Strong interpersonal and team skills, with ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Experience with quantitative and qualitative analysis desired. Overseas work experience in international development preferred. Demonstrated ability to navigate the Microsoft 365 Suite of tools to include SharePoint, Teams, Planner and Stream is required. Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Spanish and/or French preferred.
