Job Description

The Payroll Special Projects Coordinator reports to the Director of Payroll providing project management support to evaluate, refine, and implement payroll process improvements and take the lead on coordinating enhancements with stakeholders; participate on project teams to develop, test, deploy and provide ongoing support for payroll operating systems (new systems and upgrades to existing systems); create and revise training materials for university departments (e.g. on-demand tutorials, user manuals, frequently asked questions, policies, and procedures); and as necessary, perform functions to support the payroll team to ensure employees are paid on time and correctly

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management or allied field, or combination of education and significant related experience or relevant professional certification.
• Experience working on project teams.
• Previous experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Finance systems such as Banner Finance.
• Experience performing reconciliations.
• Experience analyzing and summarizing data and creating summarized reports.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous professional payroll experience
• Experience with process improvements and associated training.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and complete large projects by established deadlines and within budgetary limits.
• Experience with system testing and implementation.
