The Program Director is responsible for running and growing MECI programs in Palestine. The role includes quality control, overseeing and leading the program, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation and government relations. The Program Director will also be responsible for growing and scaling the successful MECI Child-Centered Community Development Program and other recently developed initiatives in other locations. The Program Director will report directly to the Headquarters. In close collaboration, he/she will establish strategic priorities, build partnerships, and contribute to funding opportunities.

Detailed Description of Duties:

  • Oversee and lead the program in the village of Beit Rima – Presence in the field minimum 4 days per week to ensure the effective running of the program.
  • Directly manage 25+ field-based staff through design of work plans and monitoring team workflows. Observe and evaluate the needs for staff training and organize training accordingly. Recruit direct reports and coordinate all hires of local staff.
  • Lead monitoring and evaluation efforts to make sure that the impact of the program is properly measured and reported.
  • Maintain high quality program delivery through design, review, and update of curriculum.
  • Monitor and expand activities of the local women’s association and assist in establishing social enterprises by providing business management training and establishing sound financial reporting systems, coordinate nutrition programs with the women’s association.
  • Develop, manage, and execute budgets and program activities according to program goals, donor specifications, work plans, and proposals.
  • Develop and maintain sound partner relationships for the program, including MOE, the Women’s Association, the overall local community, and other program partners.
  • Produce high quality monthly, quarterly, and annual program progress reports as well as monthly budget reconciliations to MECI HQ.
  • Assist with funding proposals by providing technical expertise and up to date program results to MECI HQ
  • Communicate impact of program to donors through MECI HQ.
  • Promote MECI locally and develop local partnerships.


  • University degree in Education and/or relevant fields, such as business administration, economic development.
  • 10+ years of experience in education program management and implementation
  • Experience in budget development and M&E
  • Experience managing staff
  • Track record of effective stakeholder management and engagement
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability for communications with various stakeholders, project staff and beneficiaries.
  • Strong networks in the development and education sectors to build partnerships with other NFP, potential service delivery partners and peer organization
  • Fluency and excellent writing and verbal skills in both Arabic and English
  • Strong computer skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office Programs
