Who are we?

The Royal Academy of Engineering is harnessing the power of engineering to build a sustainable society and an inclusive economy that works for everyone. In collaboration with our Fellows and partners, we’re growing talent and developing skills for the future, driving innovation and building global partnerships, and influencing policy and engaging the public. The role

This is a varied role focusing on programme and event organisation, awardee support, and monitoring and evaluation.

The Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation is Africa’s biggest prize dedicated to engineering innovation. It awards crucial commercialisation support to ambitious African innovators developing scalable engineering solutions to local challenges, demonstrating the importance of engineering as an enabler of improved quality of life and economic development.

Since launching in 2014, an active network of 100 plus entrepreneurs and small teams from 16 countries across the continent have received training and mentoring.

The role will involve travel to Africa to host events and training programmes for awardees and alumni, jointly organised with service providers. On rare occasions this might be as the sole representative of the Academy.
