JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Role and responsibilities

The purpose of the position is to protect the compound, the organization’s assets, and the people in the event of an incident. Guard tasks involve monitoring a certain area, reporting any incidents throughout their shift, and observing and reporting on any situations.

Specific responsibilities

  • Ensures the security and safety of NRC compound, assets and staff members.
  • Prevents unauthorized access,perimeter incursions and surveillance activities against NRC.
  • Checks visitors before entering the NRC premises and Escorting visitorto their destination in the office.
  • Monitors and authorizes entranceand departure of employees.
  • Controls accessof NRC vehicles.
  • Patrols and maintains securityof the NRC premiseson a frequent basis.
  • Take immediate action in the event of an attack or intrusion: inform HSS and anyone if it is a Guest House.
  • Records all visitors in the logbook –those entering and departing NRC premises.
  • Checks and records all NRC assetsleaving the premises.
  • Briefs replacement about their routineand significant incidents.
  • Patrol assignedarea to ensurethe security of NRC’s personnel, buildings and properties in a frequent basis both in day and night.
  • Watch for and immediately report irregularities and potential dangers,such as fire or water hazards or presence of unauthorized persons.
  • Inspect perimeterdefenses such as gates, doors,fences, lighting and barbed wires to ensure they are intact and not tampered with. Immediately report irregularities.
  • Reduce the impact of any attack carried out against the NRC compound through warning compound occupants, callingfor assistance and assisting with evacuation or other reactionas required.
  • Attend the main gate at all times in order to deterunauthorized entry into the NRC compound and to open entry and exit only for authorized persons or vehicles.
  • Receive and screen for risk deliveries of mail/packages and other items.All deliveries shallbe logged.
  • Management of generator including starting/stopping & fueling where applicable
  • Making Sure all the premises lightsare working properlyand informing SecurityFP if its damaged.
  • Know the code of conduct of NRC and follow that.
  • Understand confidentiality and not to share any information, incidents with anyone other than HSS and logistics.
  • Wear clean and decent cloth for example – full pant and shirt/T-shirt.
  • Always keep items like whistles, sticks etc. provided by the admin/logistic team.
