Competencies and assets required: • Level of education: Bachelor degree in medicine and general surgery with US specialist or ongoing specialization, or having ultrasound training with certificate from MoH for practicing US in gynecological and obstetrical consultations. • Area of study: Medical doctor degree in recognized university. • Minimum 3 years in the provisional experience in medical sector and US practicing. • Good communication skills • Ability to operate as part of a team, but also independently, depending on the situation • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) • Ability to identify innovative approaches to problems in a challenging environment • Languages needed: Arabic and English. General Context – Organization vision, mission and role in the country Un Ponte Per (UPP) is an NGO established in 1991. It has started its activities as “Un ponte per Baghdad”, right after the end of the war in Iraq, with the aim of organizing solidarity initiatives in favour of the Iraqi civil society. Later on, the intervention of Un Ponte Per started including Serbia and other Middle Eastern and Mediterranean countries. The NGO mission is to prevent new conflicts, protect human rights and support civil society, especially in the Middle East, through humanitarian and development programs, always supporting the local civil society. UPP is active in Iraq since 1991 and is regularly registered at National and Kurdistan Region levels. The main UPP offices in Iraq are in Erbil and Baghdad. This project, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), enters in its third phase and aims at strengthening the national health system in providing Mental Health, Psycho Social Support and Maternal & Child Health services for the communities of Nineveh governorate. Essential duties and responsibilities: • Conduct daily gynecological and obstetrical ultrasound exams during ante-, peri- and post-natal periods and for any diseases or obstetric complications; • Check-up and follow up on pregnant women and other maternity-related patients while also taking care of patients with obstetric gynaecological symptoms; • Use monitoring tools provided (paper forms). Awareness raising • Conduct awareness raising sessions for women and adolescents on RH topics like FP, UTI, ANC, PNC and so on. • Cooperate with the centre medical team when needed to integrate RH services with the MHPSS component. Reporting • Use monitoring tools provided (hard copy medical records); • Regularly attend supervision sessions with the Medical Coordinator.
