Get ready to be inspired! The Social Good Summit kicks off at noon ET today, and we’ve got an amazing lineup of speakers to talk about the future we want in 2030 and how each of us can take action today to make it happen.
Join us by watching the livestream here and by using the hashtag #2030NOW on Twitter and Facebook. You can also catch behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram using the hashtags #Instacorps and #2030NOW.
Over the course of three days, we’ll hear from UN officials, development experts, social change pioneers, private sector leaders, and digital trailblazers about the global challenges and – more important – the opportunities, before us today.
Some highlights I’m looking forward to today include:
- Ambassador Samantha Power’s talk with Mashable’s Pete Cashmore about the global crackdown on civil society;
- Panels on the future of news, using mobile technology to fight malaria, and women and the global economy; and
- Hearing from UN Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson, World Bank President Dr. Jim Yong Kim, and UN special adviser Amina Mohammed, who has been deeply involved in the process to create the post-2015 development agenda.
