Roles & Responsibilities
- Independent contributor IT professional providing advanced expertise to assure the effective performance of one or more elements of the organization’s technical infrastructure.
- Builds new elements of the infrastructure within their domain, to meet requested needs or needs they may have identified, and in consideration of the current and future architecture. Adds new elements to a blueprint, documents them effectively, and directs the testing and implementation of changes.
- Successfully contributes to large and/or complex projects, processes or services that have impact across multiple areas of the organization, such as across multiple functions, processes, services, etc.
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship to team members and directions to contractors in their area of expertise.
- Contributes subject matter expertise and serves as a technical resource for other professionals in their field.
- Serves as a liaison to software vendors. Manages day to day relationship with vendors supporting their elements of the infrastructure including negotiating acquisitions within the scope of an existing service agreement or contract.
- Creates technical blueprints, translating logical architecture into physical specifications. Directs and oversees the implementation effort.
- Manages the product lifecycle for one or more elements of the infrastructure to assure operational availability; designs and specifies changes for implementation.
- Assesses demand for their service or technology area and develops plans to meet future capacity needs and makes recommendations to the manager.
- Troubleshoots applications problems and support the application teams in troubleshooting of problems in SAP Java or ABAP development and production systems.
- When provided with an objective to improve performance in their area(s) of technology, develops and implements action plans needed to effect the change.
- Performs application of Support Packages as agreed to by the organization’s business stakeholders.
Selection Criteria
- Master’s degree with 5 years relevant experience or Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
- Role Specific Experience: min 5 years relevant experience as an SAP Basis Netweaver Administrator in managing SAP Production systems.
- Experience with SAP on Virtualized Infrastructure is preferred.
- Experience in developing or supporting SAP systems, understanding of SAP database, network, and system performance configuration and tuning techniques.
- Familiar with hardware and software companies and products that support or interface with SAP environments is required.
- Ability to monitor and tune the SAP database, knowledge of SQL, including programming and ways to optimize SQL code is a plus.
- Experience in day-to-day support of SAP Basis environments is required. Working knowledge of database and operating systems fundamentals is required.
- Good understanding of the SAP Enterprise Portal and SAP web technology is required.
- Relevant experience for SOX control compliance of critical financial systems
- Working knowledge of SAP systems architecture standards and industry directions is required.
