Introduction

For more than 30 years, the International Labor Organization (ILO) has implemented in Madagascar the high-intensity approach to workforce (HIMO) for the realization of various infrastructure projects, such as roads, hydro-agricultural developments and anti cyclonic buildings.
This approach combines theoretical and practical training in the field of construction and creation of decent employment opportunity for local populations.By rigorously respecting quality and security standards, the program meets the specific needs of communities while incorporating resilient infrastructure in the face of climate change.
The HIMO project is also distinguished by its positive impact in the fight against poverty, unemployment and underemployment, by promoting transition to decent and formal jobs.
As part of the implementation of the ILO technical assistance project on the DEFIS program (development of inclusive sectors) for the implementation of HIMO work (high labor intensity) at the level of irrigated perimeters and tracks, and the capacity building of management structures, the ILO launches a call for candidates for the recruitment of a driver.

Essential functions and responsibilities

Under the supervision of the National Himo Project Coordinator (CNP), the driver of the support cell performs the following functions:
.Lead the project vehicle (s) for official purposes;
.Welcome official staff at the airport and facilitate immigration and customs formalities.
.Go seek and distribute the mail, the bags of the diplomatic suitcase, documents and other articles;
.Take care of the daily maintenance of the vehicle awarded, check the oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.Perform minor repairs and make the necessary arrangements for greater repairs and ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle;
.Keep the vehicle trips, daily mileage, petrol consumption, drain, greases, etc;
.Ensure that the formalities provided for in the regulatory provisions are completed in the event of an accident;
.In addition to driving functions, perform current office tasks (including photocopies, classification, data entry, stock management and distribution and collection of various articles).;
.Execute any other task assigned by the hierarchical superior related to his post.

Qualifications required

Formation

The holder must have completed his secondary studies, to be in possession of a valid driving license and virgin of any offense, to have a good knowledge of the rules of conduct.

Experience

Two years of professional experience as a driver and good driving history.

LANGUAGES

Practical knowledge of the Malagasy and good knowledge of French.

SKILLS

1. Confirmed ability to keep registers concerning the use of vehicles;
2. Aptitude confirmed to safely drive a vehicle under local traffic conditions;
3. Aptitude to obey instructions;
4. Knowledge of vehicle management rules and procedures, in particular with regard to the maintenance of function vehicles, and knowledge of mechanics, maintenance and repair of vehicles.
5. Elementary knowledge of administrative regulatory rules and provisions.
6. Good knowledge of the uses and rules of decorum specific to drivers.
7. Good knowledge of security issues.
8. In addition to the essential skills defined by ILO [integrity and transparency, sensitivity to diversity, orientation towards learning and sharing of knowledge, concern for the customer, communication skills, orientation towards change, assumes responsibility for results, concern for quality, collaboration], this position requires the following skills: aptitude to keep a professional attitude in all circumstances.
9. Basic computer skills in order to be able to record data in computer systems.
10. Aptitude to calmly manage unforeseen situations or delays.
11. Discretion and respect for confidentiality.
12. Aptitude to work in a multicultural environment and to adopt non -discriminatory behavior and sensitive to gender considerations
13. Aptitude to lift and wear heavy documents and packages;
14. Show polish and courteous;be cooperative.
15. Aptitude to carry out minor repairs.
