Organizational context
The World Food Program (PMA) is the Humanitarian Agency of the United Nations (UN) largest world agency in the world that saves and changes lives.We provide help to save lives in emergencies and use food assistance to build a path to peace, stability and prosperity for populations that recover from conflicts, disasters and the impact of climate change.The development programs that PMA implements in Guatemala are the turning point that changes lives in the most vulnerable communities of this Central American country.Guatemala faces serious challenges to achieve the sustainable development objective (SDG 2) zero hunger, which includes eliminating all malnutrition by 2030.
Guatemala, a multi -ethnic country with a rich cultural heritage, is a country where poverty affects people in different spheres in terms of food insecurity, nutrition, health and education.Almost half of the population cannot afford the value of the basic food basket.As a result, the prevalence of delay in growth (alteration of development due to malnutrition) in children under 5 years of age is one of the highest in the world and the highest in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Purpose of the position
The person holding the position is expected to support the development and implementation of the Axisal Axis of PMA Nutrition in Guatemala.These activities are carried out around the implementation of regular PMA projects in the field, in a common effort with partner organizations.

Key responsibilities
• Support and accompaniment of activities of the Nutrition Plan of the country office, especially technical assistance to the comprehensive nutrition brigades, with the country’s nutrition team.
• Contribute to the planning of participatory nutritional education projects for the strengthening of capacities in San from government and non -governmental institutions.
• Support the systematization of information for technical assistance in San from government and non -governmental institutions.

• Strengthen the design proposals for healthy recipes with cultural relevance, which are integrated into food rations provided in the framework of food assistance from the country’s office, promoting community acceptance and healthy habits of the beneficiary population.
• Technical support in the activities of the national expansion of the communication strategy for social change and sparks generation.
• Systematic monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the three approaches to the Sparks Generation Program, in order to evaluate their compliance, identify advances and propose improvements
• Provide technical accompaniment in the design, development and implementation of qualitative and quantitative studies related to nutrition
• Develop and systematize information sheets, success stories, workshops and results documents, for timely and effective dissemination to donors and other strategic partners, contributing to the visibility and positioning of the interventions implemented.
• Design and execute activities oriented to the promotion of health and nutrition of WFP personnel, within the framework of corporate well -being initiatives (Wellness), in order to promote healthy habits and strengthen the self -care of the technical team.

Minimum ratings
a) registration in force in a university degree program and have completed at least two years of the program;either,
b) recently graduated person in a university or postgraduate university program (minimum two months).

Skills
a) Use of Office 365 tools. Advanced knowledge in spreadsheets (Excel).
b) Oral and written communication, including analysis and reporting skills.
c) Provision to make field visits and interact with different partners and interested parties.
d) Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
