Main purpose of job:
To lead and manage the IT and Estates functions at the British High Commission, ensuring the secure, efficient, and strategic operation of IT systems and infrastructure, as well as the effective maintenance and compliance of the estate. The role includes team leadership, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and budget oversight.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and supervise AO IT Support Officers and AO Technical Works Group (TWG) Supervisors.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
- Support staff development through coaching, training, and performance management.
IT Systems & Infrastructure
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and security of all FCDO IT systems.
- Ensure compliance with FCDO IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and data protection regulations.
- Coordinate with UK-based IT teams and external vendors for system upgrades and troubleshooting.
Estates & Facilities Management
- Ensure the estate is maintained to HMG standards, including refurbishment and health & safety compliance.
- Provide strategic support to the Estates & TWG team, working to standardise processes, ensuring that a quality service is maintained and that customer concerns are dealt with effectively.
- Promote sustainability and energy efficiency in estate operations.
Strategic Planning & Coordination
- Develop and implement strategic plans for IT and Estates aligned with BHC Dhaka objectives.
- Represent IT and Estates interests in cross-departmental planning and decision-making.
- Lead digital transformation, automation and innovation initiatives where applicable.
Budget & Financial Management
- Prepare and manage annual budgets for IT and TWG operations.
- Monitor monthly and quarterly expenditures, ensuring value for money and financial compliance.
- Collaborate with Finance and Corporate Services teams for accurate forecasting and reporting.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to BHC Dhaka Health & Safety regulations and best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, asset registers and compliance records.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks in IT and Estates function.
Resources managed (staff and expenditure):
You will be managing 6 resources.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience
Essential on arrival:
- Proven experience in managing large teams.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in budget planning and financial oversight.
- At least 5 years of relevant or similar experience required.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform under pressure
Language Requirements:
- Language: Proficient
- Level of Language Required: English & Bangla
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Desirable:
- Experience working in a diplomatic or international environment.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices in facilities management.

The salary will be all inclusive of BDT 202,342 per month.
