WE ARE
The mission of the Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) is to contribute to
sustainable development, the eradication of poverty, to peace and to the protection of human
rights, through international partnerships that uphold and promote European values and interests.
DG INTPA has a leading role in formulating EU policies in the area of international cooperation and
building partnerships with countries and international organization across the globe.
INTPA R6 is the Finance and Contracts Unit for the Directorates D, E, F, G and R as well as Units 01
& 02. It supports the work of 26 Units which centrally manage programmes financed through
diverse instruments, including the thematic pillar of the Neighbourhood, Development and
International Cooperation Instrument – Global Europe (Global Europe) and the European Instrument
for International Nuclear Safety Cooperation (INSC).
WE PROPOSE
Leading a team of 4 colleagues, a position of Head of Sector for financial instruments and
budgetary guarantees, in charge of coordinating and supervising all financing, contracting and
payment activities for the sector’s portfolio.
As part of these responsibilities, the jobholder will carry out the tasks and responsibilities of
financial verification (contracts/payments) and authorising officer by sub-delegation (payments).
This position involves a lot of interaction with and support to operational units for the drafting of
financing decisions, contracts, as well as preparing and monitoring forecasts and KPIs related to
contracts and payments.
WE LOOK FOR
We are looking for a candidate with proven experience and track-record in the financial

management of contracts and/or management of innovative financial instruments (such as
blending or budgetary guarantees), acquired either in an operational or financial unit. Team
management experience and proven expertise in the management of activities in the field of
international cooperation and development are an advantage.

to lead a team of dedicated colleagues to achieve its objectives, which implies a high-level of
responsibility and commitment.
