Function
ChargeUp Europe is looking for a driven, enthusiastic junior professional for the position of Social Media & Events trainee. The trainee will assist the ChargeUp Europe team in planning and executing events, follow our communications workplan, and provide support to the ongoing development of our social media channels, while servicing members’ needs. This position will offer an opportunity to develop a broad range of communications skills, both through direct experience and by exposure to a network of seasoned communications professionals from the membership.
Expected tasks
1. Social media & communications outreach
- Creating engaging social media content – both short and long-form – primarily for LinkedIn, ensuring alignment with ChargeUp Europe’s visual identity;
- Designing clear, meaningful data visualisations and infographics to distil complex information into accessible content;
- Proactive outreach to stakeholders (e.g. podcast guests and hosts) and support in coordinating activities related to campaigns, podcasts and thematic series;
- Assisting in drafting written content for social media channels and the ChargeUp Europe website, as well as internal communication tasks and content-creation.
2. Ad-hoc assistance to the Communications Coordinator & Policy team
- Providing administrative and communication support, including document formatting, research, and external communications where needed;
- Offering ad-hoc assistance in communicating with members and handling day-to-day matters;
- Collecting, synthesising and analysing information from diverse sources, including data gathering, stakeholder mapping and rapid review of reports to extract key insights.
3. Creative thinking & content development
- Contributing fresh, creative ideas to support communications, events and stakeholder engagement;
- Helping to develop concepts, visuals and messaging for campaigns and events.
4. Logistical support for events
- Providing logistical support for online and onsite events (webinars, workshops, presentations), including links, invitations and communication kits.
5. Service to the members
- Responding to ad-hoc communications-related requests from ChargeUp Europe members and supporting member-facing activities.
Please note that this list is non-exhaustive, and other tasks may be performed under this role.
Required skills and competencies
- Master’s degree in communications, political science, social sciences, international relations or similar field;
- A basic understanding of the European policy landscape and EU institutions;
- Excellent writing skills in English;
- Interest in e-mobility;
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills;
- Experience in writing for social media, particularly LinkedIn.
Additional Skills Considered an Asset
- Experience in managing X/BlueSky accounts;
- Knowledge of film editing software.
Our offer
Targeted start date: January 2026. Duration: 6 months (January to June)
Contract type: CIP (la convention d’immersion professionnelle), full time, based in Brussels (flexible hybrid working regime)
