RTU Riga Business School (RBS) is an internationally recognized business school within Riga Technical University. Since 1991, RBS has been educating business leaders through internationally oriented degree programs, executive education, and strong industry partnerships.

From 2027, RBS will enter a new phase of development through integration of the Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management (FEEM), creating one of the largest and most influential centers for business, management, economics, innovation, and interdisciplinary research in the Baltic region.

RTU RBS invites distinguished academics and executive leaders to apply for the position of RTU RBS Director. The Director will provide visionary leadership and be responsible for the overall strategic, academic, operational and financial performance of RTU Riga Business School.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a long-term strategy that positions RTU RBS as a leading internationally recognized business school in the Baltic region and beyond;
  • Ensure the highest quality of study programs, research, executive education, and student experience, promoting innovation and knowledge transfer;
  • Inspire, lead and develop faculty and administrative staff in building a high performing, collaborative and inclusive organizational culture;
  • Ensure successful accreditation processes;
  • Financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure long-term sustainability of RTU RBS;
  • Monitor RTU RBS performance achieving measurable strategic objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Increase the international visibility and competitiveness of RBS;
  • Represent RTU RBS nationally and internationally by strengthening partnerships with government institutions, industry leaders, alumni, universities, accreditation bodies and international organizations;
  • Lead the attraction and implementation of international projects and funding;
  • Ensure compliance with RTU regulations and applicable legislation;
  • Perform other leadership duties consistent with the position of Director and the strategic objectives of RTU.

Requirements for Candidates

  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Management, Economics, Finance, Law or another relevant discipline;
  • A doctoral degree (Ph. D. or equivalent) is considered an advantage;
  • At least 5 years of experience in managing an organization or a company, with responsibility for strategy, finance, operations, and people;
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and implementation, organizational development, and leading transformational change;
  • Proven success in financial management, budgeting, resource allocation, and performance management;
  • Analytical thinking, planning, and sound decision-making skills in complex environments;
  • Experience building partnerships with government institutions and key stakeholders;
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills;
  • Understanding of higher education, university governance, and the public sector environment;
  • Fluency in both Latvian and English (minimum C1 level), with the ability to represent RTU RBS effectively in national and international settings;
  • An impeccable professional reputation and the ability to meet all legal requirements applicable to public sector executive appointments.

  • Copies of educational qualification documents. Where applicable, applicants whose qualifications were obtained outside Latvia shall provide documentation confirming recognition of their qualification in Latvia (by the Academic Information Centre). Where required, evidence of compliance with Latvian state language requirements shall be provided;

  • A vision for advancing the RBS academic excellence, research impact and innovation capacity;
  • Approach for strengthening international reputation;
