The well-being of people everywhere is tied to the well-being of the planet.

Much is at stake in the fight against climate change: Hunger, poverty, health, and many other development issues are affected. To end poverty and create a world with opportunity for all, we must take strong climate action. As UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says, “Saving our planet, lifting people out of poverty, advancing economic growth — these are one and the same fight.”

The good news is we have solutions to usher in a new era of economic growth that supports people and planet. Now we need action. As world leaders prepare to gather in Paris from November 30 to December 11 to reach a new agreement on climate change, here is what is at stake and why we need to act.
