- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in psychiatry
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information to non-specialist staff and clients
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice and patient confidentiality
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Empathic and patient-focused with strong commitment to improving mental health outcomes
- Understanding of trauma informed person-centered care
- Resilient and adaptable, able to work collaboratively and effectively in a challenging and dynamic environment.
Education / Experience Needed
Education
- Medical degree (M.D) with specialization in Psychiatry
- Valid license to practice psychiatry in Iraq. Approval from the Department of Health (DoH) is required for doctors.
Experience
- Proven experience in managing complex mental health cases and providing psychotropic medication
- Preferably previous NGO experience
- Preferably 2+ years of experience in psychiatric practice, including experience working with displaced populations or in humanitarian settings
LANGUAG
Fluent/High level in Arabic, Kurdish (Kurmanji), and English
