JOB DESCRIPTION

Description

Within our Crisis and Security Consulting team, our Built Environment Consulting, and Security Design Engineers are required to deliver early-stage risk-based security strategies and planning which inform the wider concept master planning stages. This informs the work delivered in latter coordinated design and technical design stages.

– Undertaking fee earning consultancy, including but not limited to the assessment of risk, definition of security strategies and high-level planning, concept and detailed master planning. Concept and detailed technical design including the development of performance specifications and design guidance notes.

– Assisting, and designing for our engagements, including technical security reviews, audits, design surveys, installation inspections and approvals, working at client sites and in the office.

– Designing physical and electronic security systems to an appropriate level, working in conjunction with specialist engineers from other organisations within project design teams.

– As a trusted advisor ensure requests from clients and prospects are dealt with effectively to develop client relationships across the full breadth of capabilities.

– Creating proposals and building project budgets to define scope and determine pricing prior to sign-off by designated managers.

– Maintaining accurate financial forecasting, project planning, resource planning, and financial reporting.

– Operational planning and management of engagements, including quality oversight of operational and document-based deliverables and compliance with Control Risks policies, standards and methodologies.

– Operational responsibility for and collaborative input into performance management of team members.

– Adopt innovative approaches to development of current practices and new solutions and act as a thought leader and coordinate with peer group across the business.

– Creating proposals and building project budgets to define scope and determine pricing prior to sign-off by designated managers.

Requirements

Knowledge and experience

– Knowledge and understanding of the CPTED principles and other leading initiatives including Secured by Design and recognised Middle East safety and security planning guidance.

– Understanding and experience of delivering physical and electronic security design consulting across RIBA Plan of Work stages.

– Proven ability of operating successfully at a senior level, implementing policy, driving quality and growing a business.

– Proven experience of delivering consultancy-based engagements.

– Proven experience of people management.

– Proven experience of successful budgeting, project management and project closure.

Qualifications and specialist skills

– Membership of a security or design engineering related institute.

– Excellent writing and presentation skills with proven ability to participate in speaking engagements.

– Ability to liaise with and build successful client relationships.

– Ability to quickly assimilate large quantities of new information.

– Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in risk management, design or related security, crisis and/or business continuity fields.

– Security related professional certification.

– Knowledge of, and experience using design-related software, e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, MS Project and other relevant software experience.
