Qualifications & Preferred Skills
DRIVER EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a valid PUBLIC driving license and a clean driving record.
- At least 2 years of working experience as a Driver for NGOs, International companies, or as a public employee;
- The interested candidate should be an Iraqi Citizen.
- Knowledge of Mechanics is an asset.
- Spoken Basic English and Arabic is an asset.
- Enthusiastic, flexible, committed,
- Familiarity with defensive driving techniques and the project area is desirable.
- Good knowledge of country roads and the work location
- The applicant must submit a clear CV (maximum 2 pages)
- A copy of the driver’s license and national ID
- A copy of his Vehicle registration
- The driver will work 8 hours per day (including an hour break), 5 days a week.
- Sherzad Company’s working hours are 08:30 – 05:00 PM from Sunday to Thursday.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Checking the vehicle before its use daily (the driver should use the Sherzad Company checklist and tick the boxes before every departure)
- Observe the Company’s Standard operation for departures and arrivals.
- Ensure no unauthorized person drives the official vehicle on duty.
- Maintain a clean vehicle inside and out. After a journey, remove all rubbish from the vehicle and keep it tidy.
- Maintain a logbook of trip use, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- When the vehicle is not in use, keep the keys and documents secure.
- Before driving, ensure that all passengers are wearing safety belts.
- Ensure that all vehicle journeys are authorized ahead of time.
- Maintaining a car logbook that records all vehicle movements (date, time, kilometers);
- Submit all fuel invoices and payment vouchers.
- Immediately report any accident or security incident/risk to the supervisor. Complete accident and incident reports accurately and on time.
- Check daily before departure that the vehicle is roadworthy and provided with the required vehicle packs (breakdown and recovery kit; fire extinguishers, first-aid kit) according to the Vehicle Check List.
- Facilitate smooth transit across barriers or checkpoints, and liaise with governmental officers, security officers, and military representatives.
- Work after duty hours or holidays as and when required and with prior notice from the line manager.
- It may also be necessary to perform other duties related to the position as directed by the manager.
