Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
Who are we?
The British Embassy in Dublin is part of a world-wide network, representing UK political, economic and consular interests overseas, and is now recruiting for a Digital Content Creator position.
Main purpose of the job:
As part of the Embassy’s Communications Team, you will take the lead in creating and delivering engaging digital content across all our online platforms—promoting UK interests and strengthening the UK-Ireland relationship. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Embassy and the wider UK Government network, including senior officials and ministers. You’ll also collaborate with external partners to amplify our work and reach new audiences.
The issues you’ll cover will be wide-ranging—reflecting the breadth of the Embassy’s work—from climate change and cultural diplomacy to current affairs and travel advice.
What to Expect:
- A dynamic and varied workload, with opportunities to shape how we communicate on key issues;
- Occasional out-of-hours work (with time off in lieu) and some regional or international travel;
- Involvement in high-level visits and support for wider Embassy activities;
- A chance to contribute to the Embassy’s corporate life and team culture.
Why Join Us?
This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of the UK-Ireland relationship—engaging with a broad network of Irish stakeholders and UK Government departments. You’ll be part of a high-performing, creative, and collaborative team that values kindness, respect, and diversity in all its forms.
As our priorities evolve, we’re looking for someone who is flexible, curious, and ready to contribute across the full range of the Embassy’s work.
The British Embassy in Dublin is seeking a creative, proactive, and highly organised digital communications professional to join our dynamic communications team.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering engaging content that showcases the Embassy’s work and the UK-Ireland relationship. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in creating digital content—video production, copywriting, photography, illustration, or animation.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience producing content for digital platforms, especially video content;
- A strong grasp of trends in video and social media;
- Familiarity with platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn;
- The ability to communicate clearly and creatively with diverse audiences;
- An interest in or experience with bilingual content, including Irish language, is a plus.
You’ll help grow our digital reach and engagement, finding innovative ways to connect with audiences and ensure our messages resonate, including through monitoring and evaluation of impact.
If you’re passionate about digital storytelling and want to make an impact in international communications, we’d love to hear from you.
