Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit is hiring a Praticant in the project “One Health – Trainees
Area of activity
The “One Health” project advises the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) across sector to the design and implementation of the One Health strategy, the Nexus of climate change and health, as well as on questions of pandemic prevention and prevention.The focus is on advising the BMZ on One Health issues, including antimicrobial resistance, infectious diseases, such as zoonoses and neglected tropical diseases, as well as relationships between health and climate change and other environmental influences.In addition, the BMZ consultation for theme-relevant funds and global processes, e.g. the negotiation of a pandemic agreement, as well as the Joint Plan of Action on One Health of the Quadripartites, an association of FAO, UNEP, Whoah and Woah.
Your tasks
As part of your internship, you take on the following tasks:
Research and analyzes on current questions related to One Health
Support in documentation, especially for the knowledge management of the sector forecast
Support in creating professional statements, documents and presentations
Preparation and follow-up of internal and external appointments and events
Active participation in GIZ internal working groups and processes
Support for partner organization and institutions with relevance for the one health approach
Your profile
From the fourth semester you are preferred in the areas of health sciences/medicine/veterinary medicine, social sciences, environmental sciences or related fields
You prefer to have initial knowledge and practical experience in the field of development cooperation or in humanitarian aid (e.g. through internships)
(Specialist) knowledge of global health or environmental policy, as well as their actors, international processes and agreements are desirable
Knowledge of political and social conditions in developing and transformation countries
They have good oral and written communication skills in German and English and a cooperative working style
They are determined and are used to working independently and translating predetermined targets into concrete work steps
You are available for 6 months

The monthly internship remuneration is € 2,205.04 (gross).
