Introduction
Background
UN Angola depends on the Internet to access business tools based in the headquarters in New York, Geneva, and other cities through cloud-based services. Reliable internet is therefore a critical requirement for the productivity of all staff of 9 UN agencies in Angola, namely UNDP, UNFPA, UNHCR, FAO, UNICEF, IOM, UNAIDS, WFP and UN Security and Radio communications. This ToR seeks to establish an LTA with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) for primary and/or backup internet connectivity to access web-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) databases, cloud-based email services, Unified Communication voice and video traffic, and general internet browsing.
Objectives & Purpose
The primary objectives of procuring these internet Services are:
ü To secure high-quality and reliable internet services from two or more ISPs that will ensure redundancy and failover mechanisms using fiber or other reliable technology.
ü To improve internet connectivity speed, bandwidth, and security across all specialized agencies.
ü To ensure cost-effective and competitive pricing for internet services.
Purpose:
The United Nations in Angola is looking for experienced local Internet Service Providers who will provide full TCP IP high speed fibre optic on Common LTA involving participating UN agencies.
Period of the LTA:
Successful bidders will enter into a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) with UNDP for a duration of three (3) years. The initial six (6) months of the agreement will serve as a probationary period, during which UNDP reserves the right to terminate the contract should the provider’s performance be deemed unsatisfactory.
