Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Required Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Peacebuilding, Education, Cultural Heritage, Tourism/Archaeology, Anthropology, Communications, or related).
- Demonstrated experience delivering participatory trainings to youth (minimum 3 years recommended).
- Proven knowledge and practical understanding of diversity, social cohesion, conflict sensitivity, and Positive Peace concepts.
- Familiarity with Mosul/Nineveh context and the ability to contextualise content appropriately.
- Ability to develop training materials and learning tools (agenda, session plans, assessments, reporting).
- Strong facilitation skills in Arabic (Assyrian – also known as Syriac and Chaldean – and Kurdish are an asset).
Preferred Skills
- Background in cultural heritage interpretation and/or tour guiding methodologies (ethical storytelling, inclusive narratives, site interpretation).
- Experience integrating Tour Guides into learning and community engagement.
- Strong gender-responsive facilitation skills and demonstrated ability to ensure equitable participation of young women.
- Experience working with NGOs and familiarity with donor-funded reporting standards.
- Understanding of safeguarding, PSEA, Do-No-Harm, and safe-space facilitation.
- Coaching/mentoring approach (supporting participants to apply skills post-training).
