Mission and objectives

El programa de Voluntarios de las Naciones Unidas es la organización de la ONU que contribuye a la paz y al desarrollo en todo el mundo por medio del voluntariado. El voluntariado es una forma poderosa de involucrar a los/as ciudadanos/as para hacer frente a los desafíos en materia de desarrollo, y capaz de transformar el ritmo y la naturaleza de este. El voluntariado beneficia tanto al conjunto de la sociedad como a los/as voluntarios/as, fortaleciendo la confianza, la solidaridad y la reciprocidad entre las personas y creando oportunidades de participación apropiadas. Para impulsar la paz y el desarrollo, el programa Voluntarios ONU promueve el reconocimiento de la contribución de los/as voluntarios/as, trabaja con sus asociados para integrar el voluntariado en los programas de desarrollo y moviliza en todo el mundo a un número cada vez mayor y más diverso de voluntarios/as, incluidos Voluntarios/as de las Naciones Unidas. El programa Voluntarios ONU entiende el voluntariado como universal e incluyente, y reconoce el voluntariado en toda su diversidad, así como los valores que lo sustentan: libre albedrío, entrega, compromiso y solidaridad. El programa Voluntarios ONU realiza sus actividades en el marco de un doble mandato: movilizar a los/as voluntarios/as para el sistema de las Naciones Unidas y promover la importancia del voluntariado en el ámbito del desarrollo a nivel mundial. Estas tareas centrales se gestionan a través de Oficinas Regionales que cuentan con Unidades de Terreno que representan y posicionan al programa Voluntarios ONU en los respectivos países y acercan los servicios y soluciones de Voluntarios ONU a sus socios de gobiernos, entidades de la ONU, sociedad civil y sector privado.

Context

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. UNV Venezuela works to promote the value of volunteerism as a powerful means of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This assignment is part of a strategic effort to disseminate the key findings of the global research report “The Contribution of Volunteering in Human Mobility” to a Venezuelan audience. The campaign’s objective is to raise awareness and inspire reflection on the transformative power of volunteering in building resilient and inclusive communities. The volunteer’s contribution will be fundamental in translating the report’s valuable data and concepts into visually compelling, accessible, and inspiring pieces that resonate with the public, encouraging engagement and positioning volunteerism as a key driver of social change. The tone must be strictly neutral, positive, and universally appealing.

Task Description

The Online Volunteer will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing the visual components of a digital campaign based on the key findings of the global report “The Contribution of Volunteering in Human Mobility Contexts”. This campaign, composed of five main posts, will be disseminated through UNV Venezuela’s Instagram account. Specifically, the volunteer will be asked to: – Develop a Cohesive Visual Concept: Based on the creative brief and brand guidelines, create a unified visual identity for the five posts of the campaign. – Design the Main Assets: Create five (5) high-quality visual assets for the Instagram feed (format 1:1 or 4:5). These assets should be static images. – Adapt for Other Formats: Adapt the five main assets into a vertical format for Instagram Stories (16:9). The selected volunteer will work in close collaboration with the UNV Venezuela Communications focal point. Communication will be conducted entirely online via email, WhatsApp and scheduled virtual calls (approximately one initial briefing call and one weekly check-in).
