The consultant will ensure the quality of new digital customs components to facilitate trade in the transition economies region.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of UNCTAD ASYCUDA Regional Coordinator for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the incumbent will undertake following duties: – Ensuring quality of new digital customs solutions within ASYCUDAWorld framework – Ensuring conformity of new digital features with national legislation and international standards – Ensuring interoperability with other governmental information systems – Ensuring interoperability with express carriers – Providing recommendations for ensuring faster clearance times and reduced delays for shipments – Providing other types of technical support to ASYCUDA core team – Collaborating with key stakeholders to gather input and ensure alignment with project goals.

 

Qualifications/special skills

A first university degree, Bachelor, in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related area is required. At least 7 years of work experience in the area of quality assurance of complex ICT systems is required. Familiarity with customs automation, single window or similar systems is desirable. Work experience in international ICT projects and in transition economies is desirable. Familiarity with QA tools and programming languages (Java) is required.

 

Languages

Fluency oral and written in English is required. Knowledge of Russian is desirable.
