In Burundi, UNICEF has a very varied portfolio of responsibilities, but all with the same objective that is to support the government and other stakeholders to achieve economic, social, cultural, political and civilian rights of children.The UNICEF country program in Burundi aims to improve the lives of children and women in the following key fields: infantile and maternal health, nutrition, education, protection of children, water, sanitation and hygiene, social policy and advocacy, self -employment and adolescent and resilience of communities and humanitarian response.

It is within this framework that the consultancy is part of the analysis of the landscape genre of the national context of the EHA sector in Burundi in order to develop an action plan aimed at transforming the EHA services from a gender perspective.

How can you make a difference?

The consultant must:

Make the documentary review of actions and acquired
Evaluate the level of gender into account in policies, strategies, and interventions of EHA
Develop an action plan for policies, strategies and programs of the EHA sector responding to gender equality concerns and for interventions sending socio -cultural standards based on gender inequalities

To be a champion “for each child”, you will have to have …

A master’s degree (Bac+5) in gender, water, hygiene and sanitation, data analysis, law, in public policy, economics, civil engineering, water, sanitation, environmental engineering, social sciences or any other appropriate fields;
At least 5 years of experience in the fields of gender equality and Wash.
An experience in carrying out gender sectoral analyzes.Prior experience in carrying out gender analyzes and Wash is preferable;A proven experience in capacity building and the development of political documents and strategy;Knowledge of questions like the regulation of water supply and sanitation, prices, governance and policy in the water sector, hygiene and sanitation and a good knowledge of the gender context of Burundi;the proven ability to develop orientation documents, technical analyzes and high -quality development products related to gender;proven editorial and editorial skills, and in -depth knowledge of the water and sanitation sector in African countries
Speak and write French perfectly.Knowledge of local languages ​​would be an asset.
