BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) is the humanitarian organization that saves lives and changes lives, providing emergency food assistance and working with communities to improve nutrition and create resilience.For his efforts to fight hunger, his contribution to improve peace conditions in the areas affected by conflicts and act as an engine of efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict, the WFP was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020.
The WFP is present in Ecuador since 1964, as an innovative partner who supports government policies in order to promote food and nutritional security, gender equality and food sovereignty;directing their actions in support of the most vulnerable populations.
PMA Ecuador seeks to hire an assistant of information technology operations SSA-4.
Purpose of the position: Provide standard support services in the field of equipment and computer programs to contribute to the effective provision of information technology (IT) services related to: comprehensive support of IT and administrative activities, systems and asset management, technical support, IT resource organization and support in the documentation of Basic Procedures of IT and Administration.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide support to personnel solving technical hardware/software problems and in the same way solve administrative tasks to ensure fluid office operations.
2. Provide support in office asset management while maintaining precise records and inventories.
3. Provide technical support for office relocation in all aspects related to you, including equipment transfer, infrastructure configuration and ensure a technological transition without interruptions to new facilities.
4. Support in the organization and maintenance of order in IT spaces, such as server racks, equipment and work stations.
5. Provide support in the Basic Procedures documentation, including the creation and updating of simple internal documentation on frequently used IT procedures.
6. Support in the management of administrative tasks of the office.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
Incident registration and solutions: a list of solved IT problems and completed administrative tasks.
Updated IT asset inventory: a verified record of the equipment and a confirmation of the organization of IT spaces.
Contribution to the documentation: the basic guidelines or procedures of IT that have been created or updated.
A report of the activities carried out during the move of the Quito office
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: Engineering in systems or related.
Experience: 4 years
Knowledge & Skills:
The ideal professional must have basic technical knowledge (Windows operating systems, hardware, office software, fundamental networks) and, crucially, solid soft skills: service orientation, clear communication, problem solving capacity, organization, adaptability and a strong initiative to learn.
Languages: Spanish and English English
