The week the World Cup kicked off, the +SocialGood community brought together experts, innovators, and representatives from the United Nations to explore how global issues, sports, and social good intersect in a country that is fast emerging as one of the social media capitals of the world. But don’t worry if you didn’t catch the action the first time around — we’ve got all of your World Cup +SocialGood instant replays right here.
Each day a different Millennium Development Goal took center stage as part of a Google+ Hangout Virtual Panel: climate and energy; global health; girls’ and women’s empowerment; eradicating poverty; and global partnerships.
Panelists joined from around the world and included Olympic gold medalist Rebecca Soni, retired Major League Soccer player Diego Gutierrez, and Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Evan Ryan.
You can watch all of the panels below or see some of the top quotes here.

Our team of producers also went to Brazil to share stories for each of the topics. You can see some of the amazing ways Brazil is working toward the Millennium Development Goals — including empowering girls through soccer and turning trash dumps into eco-parks and sources of clean energy.
